INSTITUTIONAL STATEMENT:

Serah’s Vision Foundation is a non-profitable charitable institution started in year 2014 in Mathare Mlango Kubwa as a feeding program with 16 children, in 2018 the organization relocated to Umoja and in 2021 it relocated again to Donholm where it runs its programs of children home to date. The organization registered on 24 September 2024 under the non-governmental organization Board offering rescue, care, protection and re-integration programs to the orphans, street children and vulnerable Children, and also supporting street children and families in the community.

The organization runs a Children Community Institution (Serahs Vision Children Home) that provides provision of shelter, food and clothing, education. Guidance and counseling, Empowerment and capacity building to the street boys and girls, Provision of health care and parental care, Provision of spiritual nourishment, Integration and re-integration children. The Centre receives rescued children who have been neglected, abandoned, abused, violented and those from streets in partnership with government, varies individuals and cooperate agencies, donors and sponsors, religious organization and community.  Currently beneficiaries are as follows 53 residential children, 30 outreach children and 20 street families supported.

Serah Vision Foundation – The Serahs Vision Children Home is soliciting funds for the of a 1-acre land to establish a children home, an education Centre and farming land self-sustainability. Currently the location where the home is located the organization pays a monthly rent of Kshs 100,000 through the support of Lift the Children. The amount needed is estimated to be Kshs 150,000,000.

PROJECT BENEFICIARIES

The project targets to support 200 Orphans and vulnerable children yearly; including street children, regardless of their nationality of origin, religious belief or race.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

To provide care and support to 200 orphans and vulnerable children from age day one to 17 years or until they finish their schooling and are able to be independent.

To provide education to 200 orphans and vulnerable children from primary, secondary to university level to positively contribute to the society development.

To integrate the orphans and vulnerable children with nowadays lifestyle and skill for independence and self-employment.

To help the orphans and vulnerable children socially, morally, spiritually, economically, intellectually and humanitarianly.

To advocate for orphans and vulnerable children rights whenever necessary

Provide support and shelter to street children and support livelihood of street families who are homeless

PROJECT RESULTS:

The Centre will decongest the orphanage by having enough space at the new home constructed and children will have a healthy environment and the consequences that may cause a negative impact to the health of the children.

More than 200 (two hundred) orphans, needy, non – accompanied and vulnerable street children will be accommodated and educated

The orphans and vulnerable children who are considered as vulnerable people will access services targeting to cater for their basic needs in terms of social and educational assistance.

The orphans and vulnerable children will be integrated in a cosmopolitan environment and have a chance to socialize with peers from different nationalities and cultural groups.

The orphans and vulnerable children will be restored in their confidence and make them know their values in the society.

The orphans and vulnerable children will be fully prepared for their future in providing educational and/or vocational skills which will enable them to be independent                        

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

The activities planned are:

Feeding program of 200 orphans and vulnerable children

Purchase of a 1 acres land

To construct the children home, primary school,  in the 1 acres of land once it’s bought. 

To purchase a school bus in order to provide transport to other children who have joined the school but they are living far away from where the school is located.

This project and its budget cover a period of 3 years for construction and recruitment of children and staffs. Support for administration costs and foodstuff will be reviewed after 3 years and be renewable because the program is a long-term program.

DELIVERY METHODS

 

The organization targets 200 orphans and vulnerable children from age 1 day to 17 years. In the constitute of the problems, the challenges seen to reach orphans and vulnerable children is the abuse of their rights due to increased poverty, lack of employment and deceased parent

 

The Strategies of Implementation shall be: -

Project planning

The board of the directors/management shall be sitting each month and plan for activities, approve tenders and receive reports. They shall be meeting also to approve expenditure and evaluate the success of the project. A small board that includes the project Director, the manager and the finance manager shall be managing and running day to day activities.

 

Purchase of 1 acre of land and construction

Ten acres of land will be purchase at a place a county as shall be proposed by the Board of Management once funds are available. The construction processes and farming will be started immediately after the purchase of land, survey processes and architecture plan and bill of quantities.

 

Recruitment of staff

The organization will call for application of staffs, select those qualified and recruit them once the construction is over and before recruiting and selection of children to benefit from the program.

 

Recruiting of orphans and vulnerable children

After 3 years of completion of construction at a new home, through children department, area chiefs and community, 200 orphans and vulnerable will be recruited and enrolled to add on the already currently children at the children home being supported. During the three years of construction, farming shall continue to produce the main food which will be stored for use after 3 years when the children will be enrolled. For perishable vegetable those produced in excess will be sold and money saved for use once the children are enrolled.

MONITORING

Reporting framework shall be the monthly reports, quarterly reporting and end of the year. The organization shall keep book of records and data collection of beneficiaries, services given, resources used and good purchased.

 

These Methods of data collections, analysis & Management shall be done by the project program manager who shall be answerable to the executive director. The Director shall oversee over the construction. This data shall be collected and entered in books on daily basis according to the project implementation as schedule per work plan and budget as per procurement plan. The indicators, that shall be used in data collection shall be: - List of beneficiaries, list of payment, minutes of planning and reports taken after implementation of particular activity, bank and cash statement, payment vouchers, Receipts, Photographs, invoices and cash analyses reports

 

EVALUATION

Evaluation for the project shall be done on quality quarterly and at the end of financing, progress of the activity in the number of beneficiaries, targets; training and forums carried out shall be made and forwarded to agency

INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY

The organization is managed and headed by the founding Directors, who are responsible for linking and networking the organization with partners and agency. The organization projects are then run by the Executive Director. The projects activities are supervised and overseen by the administration manager responsible of monitoring and evaluation of the project activities and reporting to the executive director.  The organization has a bank account where its funds are channeled

SUSTAINABILITY

The organization shall be sustained by this project after its completion. The project farm will substitute for foodstuff. The education sector will be established as an income generation for the sustainability of the children home.

 

On behalf of the beneficiaries of this project, the children home shall welcome donations towards the activities of the organization for serving the humanity; and all donations must be channeled through the organization Bank Account.
